Interesting fact
The Sikyon Stater was one of the first coins to feature a portrait of a deity. The obverse side of the coin features a depiction of the Greek goddess Hera, while the reverse side features an image of a lion. This combination of a human figure and an animal symbolized the city's connection to the divine and its power and strength.
