Comment
This coin, by Luís Filipe de Abreu, is the fourth and last in the commemorative series of the first circumnavigation voyage, carried out exactly five centuries ago. This coin commemorating the conclusion of the epic, thus completing the set. On both sides of this coin we see the ship Victoria, returning to the port with badly damaged sails, and an armillary sphere, symbol of the advances in the art of navigation, to which Magellan contributed so much.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique design that commemorates the 500th anniversary of the first Portuguese voyage to India, led by Vasco da Gama in 1498. The coin's reverse side depicts a representation of the famous navigator and his ship, the Santa Maria, along with other symbols and elements that reflect the historical significance of this event.
