The coin design celebrates 30 years since "A Grand Day Out" was first shown in November 1989, the film’s stars Wallace and Gromit land on the surface of a 50p coin. It has been created by Nick Park and the team at Aardman; the designers initials appear on the reverse of the coin.The gold proof coin was presented in a limited presentation case with an issue limit of 630. Copper-nickel and colourised silver proof versions were also produced.
