The coin design celebrates 30 years since "A Grand Day Out" was first shown in November 1989, the film’s stars Wallace and Gromit land on the surface of a 50p coin. The coin was created by Nick Park and the team at Aardman; the designers initials appear on the reverse of the coin. The coin was issued individually in a Brilliant Uncirculated pack (42,251 sales) as well as to third parties in tubes (60,499 sales).


The coin was available at The Royal Mint Experience in Llantrisant, Wales as a Strike You Own edition between 29/10/2019 - 30/11/2019 (3,429 sales)
