The 2015 Jody Clark 5th portrait version of the silver piedfort proof was sold as a single coin release, as opposed to the Ian Rank-Broadley 4th portrait which was found in the annual commemorative 5-coin set. As with the silver & gold proof versions no denomination features on the coin. Issue Limit: 1,940© The Royal Mint, 2015
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Battle of Britain; Silver Piedfort 50p coin is that it was issued to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, a pivotal air campaign fought between the Royal Air Force (RAF) and the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) during World War II. The coin's design features a depiction of a Supermarine Spitfire, one of the main fighter planes used by the RAF during the battle, soaring above the English Channel. The coin's silver composition and piedfort (thick) strike add to its collectibility and numismatic value.
