Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Battle of Britain 50p coin is that it was released in 2015 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, a pivotal air campaign fought between the British Royal Air Force (RAF) and the German Luftwaffe during World War II. The coin's design features a Spitfire aircraft, which was a key fighter plane used by the RAF during the battle, and the inscription "Battle of Britain 1940" on the reverse side. The coin's obverse side features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
