The first time a royal event was celebrated on a UK 50p coin. This coin was issued to commemorate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and this strike was issued for circulation as well as being included as part of the Annual Proof (7,000 issue limit), Premium Proof (2,500 issue limit)and Brilliant Uncirculated sets for 2022. The design was also struck in silver proof, silver piedfort and gold proof.
