Date of issue: 02 NOV 2020The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is an international alliance created on 15 June 2001 by the leaders of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. Currently, the SCO unites Russia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, with Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran, and Mongolia enjoying the status of its observer states. The SCO summit will be held on 10 November 2020. During the meeting, the leaders will discuss issues of further strengthening and deepening cooperation within the SCO, taking into consideration the global political and socio-economic consequences of the new coronavirus pandemic.
BRICS is an informal association of five major emerging national economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. It was founded in June 2006. The BRICS summit will be held on 17 November 2020. The theme of the summit is BRICS Partnership for Global Stability, Common Security and Innovative Growth.
