Date of issue: 10 NOV 2020The Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation is the supreme state audit institution established in accordance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
The tasks of the Accounts Chamber include the organisation and monitoring of the intended and efficient use of federal budget funds and auditing the feasibility and efficiency of achieving strategic goals of social and economic development of the Russian Federation.
In the capacity of a parliamentary control body, the Accounts Chamber promotes transparency and efficiency in the management of budget funds and public resources in general, promotes greater accountability of government bodies and increases orientation of their activities towards the implementation of public interests.
The mission of the Accounts Chamber is to promote fair and responsible governance as a prerequisite for the sustainable development of the Russian society and a dignified life of Russian citizens.
In 2018–2021, the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation is presiding over the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).
