Date of issue: 21 APR 1995

The parade to celebrate the Soviet Union's victory over Fascist Germany was held in Moscow's Red Square on June 24, 1945. Commanded by Marshal Konstantin Rokossovsky, the troops participating in the march past were reviewed by Marshal Georgy Zhukov. Composite regiments of various theatres of war, the Defence and Navy Ministries, the Military Academy, the Moscow Military School and the Moscow garrison took part in the parade, which ended with a column of soldiers throwing down 200 German ensigns at the foot of the Kremlin Wall.

A rather rare variation of this coin with error obverse (with eagle) exists (Y#A391)
