This coin celebrates the creation of the National Ports Administration (Administración Nacional de Puertos - ANP), on 1916, on charge of all river and sea ports, regulation and administration.The image on obverse shows a Liehberr crane, from a picture taken at Paysandú port (on Uruguay river); and a port worker using informatic tools, this represents the efficiency on handling load and merchandises at port instalations..
On reverse shows an image of the main building of the ANP, placed at the entrance of the Montevideo port.
NOTE: in spite this coin is silver, and has a small mintage, is commemorative circulating. The Central Bank of Uruguay released them to circulation, and then demonetized the coins.
