Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted during a time of great political turmoil in China. The coin was issued in 1927, just a year after the death of Sun Yat-sen, the founder of the Republic of China, and during a period of factional infighting and warlordism that would eventually lead to the Chinese Civil War. Despite this instability, the coin still features a portrait of Chu Yupu, the governor of Zhili, on one side, and the National Emblem of the Republic of China on the other, symbolizing the country's aspirations for unity and stability.
