A commemorative edition of the last round £1 coin before it's 12-sided replacement was released in 2017. The designer, Gregory Cameron, is a Bishop of the Anglican Church of Wales. A limited-edition presentation of the coin alone was issued with a 7,500 limit.Issued as part of the Annual Silver Coin Sets for 2016 as well as individually (7,491 sales), the design was also issued in copper-nickel, silver piedfort and gold proof.
