The third of four Edwina Ellis bridge designs, representing Northern Ireland the Egyptian Arch Bridge is a railway bridge in Newry, Northern Ireland. Locally known as the Egyptian Arch, the rail bridge passes over the Newry–Camlough Road, in the County Armagh half of Newry. The Egyptian Arch gained its name from its resemblance to the nemes headdress worn by Ancient Egyptian pharaohs.Issued individually and as part of the 2006 Annual Piedfort set, this design was also struck in nickel-brass, silver proof and gold proof.
