The third of four Edwina Ellis bridge designs, representing Northern Ireland the Egyptian Arch Bridge is a railway bridge in Newry, Northern Ireland. Locally known as the Egyptian Arch, the rail bridge passes over the Newry–Camlough Road, in the County Armagh half of Newry. The Egyptian Arch gained its name from its resemblance to the nemes headdress worn by Ancient Egyptian pharaohs.The 2006 issue was released individually and as part of the 4-coin Bridge set (300 set limit), Issue Limit: 1,500
The 2008 piece was issued in a 14-piece set to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the £1 coin and was also struck in silver proof with selective gold plating.
