Interesting fact

The obverse (front) side of the coin features a portrait of the Carian satrap (governor) Alkimachos, who ruled Kos during the 4th century BC. The reverse (back) side of the coin depicts a winged horse (Pegasus) and a dolphin, which were symbols of the city of Kos. The coin's design was meant to showcase the city's wealth and prosperity, as well as its connection to the Greek world.
