Interesting fact
The Szeląg litewski coin , which features Jan II Kazimierz Waza (Malbork) and was minted in 1666, is a rare example of a coin that was minted during a time of great turmoil in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The coin was minted during the Swedish Deluge, a series of conflicts between the Commonwealth and Sweden that lasted from 1655 to 1660. Despite the turmoil, the coin still features the image of the king and the coat of arms of the Commonwealth, indicating the importance of maintaining national symbols and identity even during times of conflict.
