Interesting fact
The Nagidos Stater was issued during the reign of King Arses, who was the last king of the Persian Empire's Cilician satrapy. The coin features a countermark, which was added by the succeeding king, Alexander the Great, as a way to validate the coin's authenticity and value. This countermark is a small image of a lion's head, which was one of Alexander's symbols. This coin is a rare example of a coin that has been countermarked by two different rulers, making it a unique piece of history.
