Interesting fact
The Corinthian Stater was one of the first coins to feature a depiction of a human being. The obverse side of the coin features a portrait of a bearded man, believed to be the god Poseidon, who was revered as the protector of the city of Corinth. This makes the Corinthian Stater a significant piece of numismatic history, as it marks one of the earliest examples of a human image being used on a coin.
