Interesting fact

The obverse (front) side of the coin features a mythical creature called a Pegasus, which is a winged horse. This image was a symbol of Corinth's wealth and power, as well as its connection to the goddess Athena, who was often depicted with a Pegasus. The Pegasus on the Corinthian Stater is depicted in a galloping pose, with its wings spread wide, giving the impression of movement and dynamism. This design was quite innovative for its time and became a hallmark of Corinthian coinage.
