Interesting fact
The Phaselis Stater from Lycia was used as a form of currency in the 6th century BC and features an image of a lion's head on one side and an inscription on the other. It was made of silver, which was a valuable and widely used metal at the time. Despite its age, many of these coins have been well-preserved and are still highly sought after by collectors today.
