Interesting fact
The Prutah coin was used during the reign of Herod the Great, who was a Roman client king of Judea. Despite being a small bronze coin, it was an important part of the ancient Jewish monetary system and was used for everyday transactions. In fact, the Prutah was the smallest denomination of Jewish coinage at the time and was equivalent to about 1/8 of a shekel.
