Comment

Rare plaque, type of association Luxembourg-Bar.

The average weight of 7 pieces analyzed was 3.79 g.

Despite the small number of known copies, Weiller was able to identify a fairly large number of legend variants. For more details see Weiller, p. 34. Do not rely too much on the legend variants of a single author, some inaccuracy is given for this plaque. A number of legend variants seem to be missing in the Weiller. Probst does not indicate any, just mentions "variants of legends".

First description of the coin by N. van Werveke in 1892 and published by the RBN, vol. XLVIII, 1895, pp. 384-385.

Interesting fact

The Jean the Blind ND (1345-1346) silver plaque coin from the County of Luxembourg (Luxembourg) is a rare and valuable coin, with only a few known examples surviving to this day. It is believed that the coin was minted during the reign of John the Blind, who was the Count of Luxembourg from 1345 until his death in 1346. The coin's rarity and historical significance make it a highly sought-after collector's item among numismatists and historians.
