Hannanyah is named as a governor of Samaria in Wadi Daliyeh papyri, (nos. 7 and 9). The Samaritan Chronicles also mention a heigh priest named Hannanyah durring the time of Queen Esther.David Hendin Guide to Biblical Coins Fifth Edition, p 109
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Ma'ah-Obol - Hannanyah (Samaria) coin is that it features an image of a lion, which was a symbol of the Achaemenid Empire, on one side, and an inscription in Aramaic on the other side, indicating the coin's origin and purpose.
