Comment
The first flat coin of Thailand, which Rama III intended to replace the cowries. He employed Robert Hunter, a Scottish merchant, to make pattern coins. However, the king did not approve any of pattern coins, as the lotus is the symbol of Krom Tha (Department of Ports, who deals with foreigners), being an inappropriate symbol for Siam's coins.
