The first flat coin of Thailand, which Rama III intended to replace the cowries. He employed Robert Hunter, a Scottish merchant, to make pattern coins. However, the king did not approve any of pattern coins, as the elephant intimates , being an inappropriate symbol for Siam's coins. These pattern coins never been denominated.Interesting fact
