Comment
This type is very similar to Chalon Hainaut 84, but has only twelve fleur-de-lis obverse, and was made to a lower weight standard (examples found in 2010-2020 auction sales ranged from 2.9-3.4 grams)Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features an eagle on the reverse side, which was a symbol of power and strength in the Middle Ages. The eagle was also associated with the Holy Roman Empire, which had a significant influence on the County of Hainaut during this time period. The inclusion of the eagle on the coin may have been a nod to the Empire's influence and power.
