Comment

First gold coin struck for the County of Luxembourg.
Initially struck at the Prague mint from 1325, later also at the Luxembourg mint, with the main devices and legends identical. According to Elsen (2020 - Auction 144 catalog), the helmet facing left is the mint mark for Luxembourg, with crown, lion or helmet right indicative of Prague mint. However, auction listings are generally not following this division.

Very rare piece, few known copies. Weiller lists 11.

Variation: The first S of the legend of the reverse is sometimes flanked by one or two points.
