Comment

The date is written in full, on the obverse. The script is somewhat calligraphic so not exactly like is presented below.

Interesting fact

The Dirham coin was issued during the reign of Al-Mundhir, who was the Emir of Córdoba from 886 to 888 AD. During his reign, the Emirate of Córdoba was facing significant economic challenges, including inflation and debasement of the currency. To address these issues, Al-Mundhir introduced a new coinage system that included the Dirham coin, which was made of silver and had a standardized weight and purity. This coin was an important step towards stabilizing the economy of the Emirate and promoting trade and commerce in the region.
