This is the only known instance of the use of the patronymic on a coin with a lined inscription of Vasily Vasiliyevich. The use of the patronymic was probably employed to distinguish this issue from the coins of his enemy and namesake, Vasily Yuriyevich.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Denga coin is that it was minted during the reign of Vasily II, who was known as "the Blind" due to his visual impairment. Despite this, he was able to rule the Grand Principality of Moscow effectively and implement several reforms, including the introduction of a new currency system that included the Denga coin.
