Comment

The gens Pinaria was one of the most ancient patrician families at Rome. They traced their origin to a time long previous to the foundation of the city. The Pinarii are mentioned in the regal period, and the first of the gens to obtain the dignity of the consulship was Publius Pinarius Mamercinus Rufus in 489 BC.
