Comment
Little is known about Lucius Cestius except his coins issued during his praetor office in 43 BC.It is supposed he would be from the gens Pobilia and that he would be the father of Gaius Cestius for whom was built the Pyramid of Cestius in Rome.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a rare and unique design, with the portrait of Gaius Norbanus Flaccus on one side and the image of Lucius Cestius on the other. This coin is one of the few known examples of a Roman coin that features two consuls on opposite sides, making it a highly sought-after collector's item among numismatists.
