Interesting fact
The 6 Vinténs coin from Portugal, minted during the reign of Pedro IV (1826-1828), was the first coin to feature a portrait of a Portuguese king on its obverse side. This was a departure from the previous design, which had featured an image of the Portuguese coat of arms. The use of a royal portrait on the coin was a nod to the increasing influence of liberalism and the desire to promote the image of a strong, centralized monarchy.
