Interesting fact
The 6 Vinténs coin from Portugal, minted during the reign of King Miguel I (1828-1834), features an interesting design element. The obverse side of the coin bears an image of the king in a neoclassical style, while the reverse side features a depiction of the Portuguese coat of arms, surrounded by a wreath of laurel leaves. This design was a departure from the traditional depiction of the Portuguese coat of arms on coins, which typically featured a shield with five quinas (a quina is a heraldic symbol resembling a shield with five points) and a crown above it. The use of the laurel wreath on the 6 Vinténs coin was a nod to the country's rich history and cultural heritage.
