Salto is a city placed to north of the country, on the western border with Argentina (separated by Uruguay River). Is the 3rd most populated city, after Montevideo (country capital), and Ciudad de la Costa (Shore City), which in fact is a suburb of Montevideo, placed close to it, and goes to East for 30Km.Name was originally Salto Oriental (Eastern Jump), as was placed close to a river fall (Salto Grande); later the name was shortened to Salto only.
