Augusto Calderón Sandino (May 18, 1895 in Niquinohomo (Nicaragua) - February 21, 1934 in Managua) was a Nicaraguan guerrilla leader who, from 1927 to 1934, fought against the legal government supported by the US Marines. He was assassinated in 1934 by the National Guard commanded by the first Somoza, on the orders of the American ambassador Arthur Bliss Lane. (Source : www.wikipedia.org)
