The series was struck to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first book, A Bear Called Paddington, by Michael Bond.The third of four Paddington Bear commemorative coins, the others being Paddington at the Station, Paddington at the Palace and Paddington at St Paul's. The coin was also struck in copper-nickel and silver proof.
