Comment
This silver issue was only available in Brilliant Uncirculated and was part of the complete set of 29 coins to commemorate the London 2012 Olympic Games. It was also issued individually as well as being available in copper-nickel, gold proof and gold piedfort. Issue Limit: 30,000Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 50p coin is that it features a unique equestrian design, depicting Queen Elizabeth II on horseback. This design was created by sculptor Matthew Bonaccorsi and was originally intended to be used on a £2 coin, but was later adapted for use on the 50p coin instead. The coin's equestrian theme was chosen to celebrate the Queen's love of horses and her long history of horse breeding and riding.
