This is the second time a gold piedfort version has been issued of this design the first being in 2009 with Ian Rank Broadley's 4th portrait in the 16-piece sets to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 50 pence denomination. Although the design was first released in 1994 with Raphael David Maklouf's 3rd portrait a gold piedfort was not issued. This Jody Clark 5th portrait issue, forms part of the 5-coin British Military set celebrating 50 years of the 50p.Issue Limit: 50

Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Non-circulating coin 50 Pence - Elizabeth II (D-Day Anniversary; Gold Piedfort) 2019 from United Kingdom is that it was minted to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day, a significant event in World War II. The coin's design features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on one side and a depiction of the Normandy landings on the other. The coin's gold composition and piedfort style, which means it is thicker and heavier than a standard coin, make it a unique and valuable collector's item.
