Comment
The '100 Years of Our BBC' 50 pence was the first coin to be released by The Royal Mint following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. The coin continued to bear the image of The Queen, in support of His Majesty the King's ambition for a sustainable transition. This ensured minimal environmental impact as the designs, tools and packaging for these products had already been produced. The coin was issued individually (issue limit 250), in a 2-coin set (issue limit 100) with a 1922 sovereign and in copper-nickel, silver proof and silver piedfort. Issue limit: 360.

Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the BBC Centenary Gold Proof 50p coin is that it features a unique reverse design, created by artist and designer, Timothy Noad. The design depicts a stylized image of the BBC's iconic Globe logo, surrounded by the inscription "BBC CENTENARY 1922-2022" and the coin's denomination, "50 PENCE". The use of gold and the limited mintage of 1,495 coins make this coin a highly collectible and valuable piece for coin enthusiasts and fans of the BBC.
