Comment
The coin was issued as individual pieces with the Jody Clark fifth obverse portrait. However, the coin issued in the 2021 Annual Silver Piedfort sets featured the same Arnold Machin second portrait that was used for the new decimal coinage in 1968. The coin was also struck in copper-nickel, silver proof, gold proof and gold piedfort. Issue limit: 2,510.© The Royal Mint, 2021
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted to commemorate the 50th anniversary of decimalization in the United Kingdom, which took place in 1971. The coin's design features a special commemorative reverse, depicting the Royal Coat of Arms, and the inscription "Decimalisation Anniversary" to mark this significant event in British numismatic history.
