Comment
The coin was issued as individual pieces with the Jody Clark fifth obverse portrait. However, the coin issued in the 2021 Annual Gold Proof sets featured the same Arnold Machin second portrait that was used for the new decimal coinage in 1968. The coin was also struck in copper-nickel, silver proof, silver piedfort and gold piedfort. Issue limit: 474.© The Royal Mint, 2021
A strike on the day editon was also struck on 15 February 2021 which features selected frosting, which enhances details within the design. Issue Limit: 700

Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted to commemorate the 50th anniversary of decimalization in the United Kingdom, which took place in 1971. The coin's design features a special commemorative reverse, created by artist David Knapton, that showcases the evolution of the UK's currency from the old system of pounds, shillings, and pence to the modern decimal system. The coin's gold composition and proof finish also add to its collectibility and numismatic value.
