Comment

This collection dedicated to the great artist Francisco de Goya y Lucientes (1746-1828) is the third issue of the series called "Spanish Painters", with which we want to pay homage to the most outstanding Spanish creators throughout History.

Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes (30 March 1746 – 16 April 1828) was a Spanish romantic painter and printmaker. He is considered the most important Spanish artist of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. His paintings, drawings, and engravings reflected contemporary historical upheavals and influenced important 19th- and 20th-century painters. Goya is often referred to as the last of the Old Masters and the first of the moderns.

Interesting fact

The Francisco de Goya 50 Euro coin from Spain features an image of the famous Spanish artist, Francisco de Goya, on its obverse side, while the reverse side showcases his painting "The Duchess of Alba and La Beau Nash" (1795). This coin is not only a beautiful tribute to Goya's art but also a unique collector's item due to its non-circulating status and limited mintage.
