Comment
This coin was plan to issued by Republic of Somalia as the “Set of African Oryxes” coloured circulating commenmorative coins during 2002.
But the set of coloured coins got seriously error as “Coloured paint is very easily to peel off”.
Then Somalia cancelled to issue these coins until the chaos civil war began soon, the warlords found them and release them into numista's markets in global site.
Interesting fact
The 5 Shillings (Habitat Preservation) 2002 coin from Somalia is a non-circulating coin, meaning it was not intended for general circulation and was instead produced for collectors or special occasions. Despite its small denomination, the coin is made of copper and weighs 8 grams, which is relatively heavy for a coin of its size. This makes it a unique and interesting addition to any coin collection.
