Comment

Issued to commemorate the centenary of the discovery of Tutankhamun’s Tomb. This strike was issued after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II but the design continued to bear the image of The Queen, in support of His Majesty the King's ambition for a sustainable transition. This ensured minimal environmental impact as the designs, tools and packaging for these products had already been produced.

The coin was issued individually, and the design was also struck in copper-nickel, silver proof and gold proof. Issue limit: 810.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it commemorates the 100th anniversary of the discovery of King Tutankhamun's tomb, which was discovered by Howard Carter in 1922. The coin's design features an image of the famous golden mask of Tutankhamun, along with the inscription "Tutankhamun's Tomb Centenary" and the dates "1922-2022". The use of silver and the piedfort (a type of coin that is thicker and heavier than a standard coin) adds to the coin's collectibility and numismatic value.
