Comment

Issued to commemorate the centenary of the discovery of Tutankhamun’s Tomb. This strike was issued after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II but the design continued to bear the image of The Queen, in support of His Majesty the King's ambition for a sustainable transition. This ensured minimal environmental impact as the designs, tools and packaging for these products had already been produced.

The coin was issued individually (issue limit: 200, sales unknown)as well as in a coin and stamp cover (issue limit: 50, sales unknown), and the design was also struck in copper-nickel, silver proof and silver piedfort. Issue limit: 260.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the coin is that it commemorates the 100th anniversary of the discovery of King Tutankhamun's tomb, which was discovered by Howard Carter in 1922. The coin's design features an image of the famous golden mask of Tutankhamun, along with the inscription "Tutankhamun's Tomb Centenary" and the dates "1922-2022". The coin's gold content and limited mintage make it a valuable and collectible item for numismatists and history enthusiasts.
