Comment
It is also known as "American antelope", due to its similar appearance to African antelopes; It is not actually an antelope, but belongs to a family of hoofed mammals (those with hoofed legs) that is unique to North America. Similar in size to that of a deer, the pronghorn takes its name from the coloration of its short coat, which allows it to be easily identified (pronghorn means "two colors"): on the back, the haunches and the neck, it is tan; on the belly, chest, sides and tail it is white, it also has two white bands on the neck and cheeks. Their horns can measure up to 50 cm. long; and they are made up of two parts: an inner bone base and an outer covering made up of hardened hairs. Every year they molt the outer part of their horns.Interesting fact
