Interesting fact
The 5 Makuta coin from the Democratic Republic of the Congo has an interesting design feature. On the obverse side, the coin features a portrait of a young African woman wearing a traditional headdress, surrounded by the words "REPUBLIQUE DEMOCRATIQUE DU CONGO" and the date "1967". The reverse side of the coin features a stylized image of a lion, surrounded by the words "5 MAKUTA" and "LEOPOLDVILLE".
