(Imperial Metal Industries Limited, where King's Norton is part of) for the 1 Likuta and 5 Makuta coins.

Of the total mintage, 5,992,000 were minted in 1966, 42,072,000 were minted in 1967, 1,984,000 were minted in 1968, and 448,000 were minted in 1969. Another 8,000,000 were minted in 1978 in West Germany.

Interesting fact

The 5 Makuta coin from the Democratic Republic of the Congo has an interesting design feature. On the obverse side, the coin features a portrait of a young African woman wearing a traditional headdress, surrounded by the words "REPUBLIQUE DEMOCRATIQUE DU CONGO" and the date "1967". The reverse side of the coin features a stylized image of a lion, surrounded by the words "5 MAKUTA" and "LEOPOLDVILLE". The lion is depicted in a standing position, with its front paws resting on a shield that bears the national emblem of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This design element symbolizes the country's rich wildlife and natural resources.
