Comment

Plato (427 - 347 BC)

His is the doctrine of ideas, pure and abstract essences collected in the hyperuranium world, of which real things are but a pale copy. In his work, the concept of the immortality of the soul appears for the first time.

Interesting fact

The 5 Lire Plato coin from San Marino, issued in 1996, features an image of the ancient Greek philosopher Plato on one side and the coat of arms of San Marino on the other. Plato is depicted in a profile view, with his name written in Greek letters (ΠΛΑΤΩΝ) above him. This coin was issued to commemorate the 2,400th anniversary of Plato's birth.
