Comment

The commemorative coin is dedicated to Sniatyn, a picturesque town in the historical region of Pokuttia situated on the left bank of the Prut River and a district center of the Ivano-Frankivsk oblast. For the first time Sniatyn was mentioned in 1158 as a town of the Principality of Halych (Galicia) in the Hypatian Chronicle; in 1448 the town was granted Magdeburg Rights.
